Whatever Happened To UK Gov Men's Health Strategy
As reported by Unionsafety in 2025, the UK government published a men's health strategy for England in November 2025, and the UK news media was happy to report this, but has since never followed up on the story to see how it has been progressed and followed up.
The detailed report on unionsafety, can be found here: Government Unveils Englands First Men's Health Strategy On International Men's Day
As we approach the strategy's first anniversary, there is a unique opportunity to hear from the government official, Cathy Morgan, who led its development and two representatives, Prof Paul Galdas and Mark Brooks, from academia and civil society who have been involved throughout and who now sit on the strategy stakeholder group.
On 5th November on-line, a 3pm, GMT, a zoom meeting will take place, during which we will also hear from Canadian colleagues about the national men’s health strategy that will soon be launched in Canada.
This webinar will be of relevance and interest to public health policymakers and men’s health advocates around the world who wish to improve men’s poor health outcomes.
Union Safety Reps and Union officials will finr this interesting and enable them to focus on the Government's strategy as it impacts the workplaces of their members.
Further, the impact on society, is of relevance given the poor conditioj of male health in the UK and the increasing risks of suicide and levels of male cancers being found in the country. This alone implicates lifestyles, food quality and both the food industry and that of the entertainment and the sector.
